Our heroes are near defeat in an apocalyptic future and face the final attack from the sentinels - fast moving robots that lock-on to any human life. Hang-on, that's sounds awfully like the plot of The Matrix Revolutions. To win, Logan must send his mind back to 1973 to stop a pivotal moment in the sentinels' development.
It's a visually striking entry to the X-men universe, and particularly once the plot moves to the 1970s where Logan fits right in with the style of the times and there a few laughs to be had. Back stories for Professor X and Mystique were explored, but not in huge amounts of depth.
Overall, I enjoyed it, but I can't see myself revisiting it for a while.
