Early David Lean comedy based on Noel Coward play. The special ghost effects are limited and not especially special - but the ensuring romantic triangle is fun to watch as the near screwball exchanges crackle with wit. Rutherford adds significant extra value as the eccentric and bumbling medium.The end scene left me wondering if the makers of Stardust had watched Blithe Spirit...
Verdict: Gentle Sunday fare.
